MARS Junior Roller Derby
Ages
Children ages 7 through 18 (18 only if their birthday falls on or after September 1st, 2008)
The Season
All levels start in September and run though March 31 with select opportunities for practice and competition after.
Level 3 competition season begins April 1 and runs through June. More information will be provided as we move into the season.
Scheduled breaks for holidays and summer breaks will be on the calendar.
Where
Turners Skate Palace located at 17333 Virginia Ave. Hagerstown, MD.
Practice and Home games are typically hosted at the same locations or at nearby venues that can accommodate Roller Derby,
The location of away games will vary depending on the location of the host team.
Practices
MARS all levels
Saturdays - 9am-11am
All Stars Practice
Saturdays - 9am-12pm
Thursdays - 8pm-10pm
Extra Costs
- In addition to skater dues, there is a one-time annual registration fee of $50 per skater, that is included in the registration price!
- Jerseys & Gear are not included in the costs. Those items maybe purchased separate. Please see our Resources Page for more information on purchasing gear, equipment & jerseys.
- At this time, MARS cannot pay for travel to away games (though this is a forward-looking fundraising goal). MARS will look to pair skaters for carpooling to events to ease the cost of traveling for families.

Is there a cutoff date to join?
March 31, 2027
Do I need to pay for the entire season at registration?
No, you can choose to pay skater dues monthly by selecting a payment plan during registration.
What if my skater changes their mind about derby?
You can cancel your membership at any time by notifying the Board of Directors (BOD). Your billing will stop the month after you give notice.
Note: All Stars Skaters are not eligible for refunds for cancellations after March 31, when the team charter is locked.

Our Level 3 competitive track is still being finalized. As we move into the 2026–2027 season, we’ll be evaluating interest, skater readiness, and league opportunities to determine the best path forward.
